My name is Kody. I am a Kermode Bear. I live with my family in the remote rain forests of British Columbia. The natives refer to us as Spirit Bear. They believe that Raven, Creator of the World, made one of every 10 of us white as a reminder of the glacial age and so we could bring peace to the World. Robert Johnsen | Print |  E-mail

Robert Johnsen was born in Clairsholm Alberta in 1957, and now resides in Port Hardy B.C. Embraced by the Kwaguilth tribe, in 1990 he began carving masks under the tutelage of Alex Hunt of Fort Rupert B.C. Robert carved out his niche with wood for 9 years before turning to jewelry.

While most of his work is in silver and gold, Robert will embellish his designs with precious stones and ancient trading beads. Well known for his fine textures and crosshatching, his work is sought after internationally.

"I have been quite successful and do now have jewelry world wide. Various commissions have been produced for people in Greece, Hawaii, England, Sweden, United States, Canada, and most recently, Japan for the 2006 summer Olympics. I look forward to creating new and exciting pieces for years to come, and am grateful to all those who take interest in my work"
