William Cook

William Cook was born in Alert Bay at the northern tip of Vancouver Island. His cultural heritage is in the 'Namgis, Ma'amtagila and Mamalilikala tribes. William and his brother, artist Rande Cook learned from their grandfather, who taught the essential elements of art and impressed upon the brothers how art reflects and preserves the culture of his people. William's creative silver and gold work is well known for its fine detail and accuracy.
